Should You Consider Staying in Da Nang?

Exploring Central Vietnam: A Month in Danang

Visitors to Central Vietnam often overlook Danang in favor of nearby Hoi An. After deliberation, I chose to live in Danang for a month and explore Hoi An for a week. And I’m glad I did! Vietnam’s beauty and culture are truly experienced in Danang.

While not my favorite place in Southeast Asia (that honor goes to Chiang Mai, Thailand), my month in Danang living near a beautiful beach in a budget-friendly apartment was exactly what I needed. Danang, also spelled Da Nang, offers beautiful beaches, affordable local and international cuisine, and serves as an excellent base for exploring Central Vietnam.

This travel guide includes the best things to do in Danang based on my experiences living in the city and traveling in Vietnam. Whether you’re planning a trip to Da Nang or looking for accommodations, tours, or travel insurance, this guide has got you covered.

Hoi An, a popular tourist spot, is just a short drive from Danang. While a day trip to Hoi An is feasible, staying in Danang and visiting Hoi An as a day trip is also an option. Consider spending time in both cities before making a decision.
